The Language School offers classes in German for all levels of experience and knowledge and for all ages.

There are also Total Immersion programs and German for Travel classes offered at various times during the year.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Between 10:15 and 11:05 each Sunday morning in the months between October and June the children and the adults of Zion meet for Sunday School.  There are two classes for children.  The pre-kindergarten and primary aged children meet for stories, song, and play while the intermediate class has  lessons and activities.  Both groups are involved in special holiday celebrations and intergenerational events.

The adults meet at the same time for lively discussions focusing on a variety of topics ranging from Bible studies, church history, and social issues.  This group is generally facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Eric W. Gritsch, Emeritus Professor of Church History, Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary and a member of Zion, Bonnie Brobst, President of Zion's Church Council and an educator, and the Rev. Dr. Holger Roggelin, Zion's pastor.  All adults are welcome  for education and light refreshments.

EDUCATION UPATES:

The adults will continue to discuss the newest book by Dr. Eric Gritsch, TOXIC SPIRITUALITY, each Sunday in the Adlersaal at 10:15 through December 20.

On January 10, 2010 the topic for study will change -- the group will embark on a study of THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES facilitated by Bonnie Brobst. ACTS is Luke's extended description of the nature and purpose of the Christian church in all times and among all peoples. If we desire to know what the church is for, where its power and direction come from, and how to be the church today, ACTS is the book to study!

BIBLIOPHILES
This group of readers meet in the church lounge once per month to discuss a wide range of books.  The group has enjoyed stimulating conversations revolving around both classic and current novels, children's literature, essays, short stories, and nonfiction.  Call the church office at (410) 727-3939 for the next selection and meeting date.  All book lovers are invited!
