A Special Invitation from the Worship & Music Committee
The Zion Church St. Cecelia Fund and the Eric W. Gritsch Memorial Fund have partnered to sponsor a fundraiser recital at Zion Church on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. We are honored to welcome internationally acclaimed organist and teacher Nathan Laube to perform a solo organ recital on the Patrick J. Murphy organ in Zion’s sanctuary. Mr. Laube’s extensive recital career has taken him to major concert venues and festivals around the world, and includes appearances in Seoul Korea, the Fiji Islands, many cities throughout Europe, as well as numerous performance centers throughout the United States. He is Associate Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York and International Consultant in Organ Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the United Kingdom. To learn more about Nathan Laube or listen to his performances, see http://www.concertorganists.com/artists/Nathan-Laube/
We are grateful to Zion Church Organist John Heizer and Patrick J. Murphy and Associates for co-sponsoring Mr. Laube’s appearance at Zion. Immediately following the recital, a gala reception, sponsored by the Eric W. Gritsch Memorial Fund, will be held in the Adlersaal, Zion’s historic parish hall.
This recital will mark the fifth anniversary of Zion’s organ, restored and dedicated in 2014. It is also a most fitting way to commemorate the November 10th birthday of Martin Luther, known for his great love of music. Dr. Eric Gritsch, the internationally known Luther scholar, brought the reformer to life through his teaching and writing, and at the traditional Lutherfest celebration at Zion Church.
We invite you to share these celebrations with us at this special event. During the afternoon our souls will be fed with inspiring music, and then our bodies will be nourished at the gala reception in Zion’s beautiful social hall. We will have the opportunity to meet the musician, greet old friends, and make new ones as we enjoy delicious food and wine.
Please join us and invite your friends to attend a lovely afternoon of exceptional music and hospitality in a beautiful historic setting. See the flyer in this newsletter for additional information.
To RSVP, please contact the Zion Church Office by email, email@example.com or by phone, 410-727-3939. Advance reservations are appreciated for reception planning.
Tickets are $25.00 in advance (non-refundable) or $30.00 at the door;
$20.00 for students with ID.
We look forward to seeing you at this special event!
