As a nod to Mother’s Day, in our worship service today, we will hear about three women in the Bible. Jochebed gives birth to Moses, hides him, and has to release him to Pharaoh’s daughter; Jael resorts to violent self-defense when warfare comes into her home; and Dorcas (also called Tabitha) is beloved because she expresses her faith by sewing for the poor. Let us praise God for these and all the other women through whom God teaches us and inspires our faith.
