Jesus spent a lot of time teaching his followers about God’s love, God’s will for their lives, and God’s promises for them.
We are faithful to Jesus’ model of growing disciples through our education ministry. People of all ages are encouraged to grow in faith and discipleship by joining us in these learning opportunities.
Sunday school
We offer Sunday school for children and adults between worship services, 10:15 – 11:15 am, on Sunday mornings. (COVID has interrupted our Sunday school program; please watch for future announcements about its reopening.)
Tuesday Noonday Bible Study
Every Tuesday at noon, a group of people from Zion and from the community meets to study scripture. Theis group is led by Mrs. Bonnie Brobst.
Wednesday Noon Bible Conversation
On Wednesdays at noon, we meet via Zoom to discuss the gospel reading from the previous Sunday. Everyone is welcome to join our conversation. The pastors lead this group on Zoom. Click here for Zoom details.
Children’s Chapel
On Sunday mornings, we invite young children to leave the sanctuary before the sermon for a child-friendly look at the scripture readings that day. They return to worship in time for Holy Communion.
Catechism
We teach catechism classes for youth and adults on an as-needed basis. Please contact the pastors if you are interested in learning more about basic Lutheran teachings.
Community Faith Connections
Community Faith Connections is a time for all generations to explore our faith together through Bible stories, conversations, hands-on activities, and song. Activities include persons 0-99+ and support the participation of all persons in the church year and our life together.
The usual meeting place is Sunday School Room between the German and English services. Meetings take place on the first Sunday of each month.
